Holy Week Services Continue at Calvary

Dear Friends,

Folks from all over town have gathered at Calvary this week at noon for ecumenical Holy Week services sponsored by the Ashland Area Ministerial Association. More than 80 souls attended yesterday, hearing The Rev. John Street from First United Methodist Church (left) preach, in worship led by The Rev. Joel Kelly from First Presbyterian. The ladies of First UMC provided a light lunch afterward in our parish hall.
It has been a delight to see our nave full of friends and neighbors, and to work with my colleagues from the above-mentioned churches and with Ashland First Church of the Nazarene, Centenary Methodist Church, The Salvation Army, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), South Ashland United Methodist Church, and Shelter of Hope.
Worship continues today and tomorrow! Sandwiched between them is tonight’s Maundy Thursday service at 7 P.M., followed by the Vigil at the Altar of Repose in the chapel, transformed into a desert garden by Liz Alexander. Hours are still available for you to sit and pray in Jesus’s presence – sign up this evening!

Wishing you a blessed (remainder of) Holy Week,
Mtr. TJ
