Dear Calvary friends,
We had another larger than usual summer crowd! A hearty thanks to everyone who invited a friend or family member. Seeing fresh faces is always fun!
A special word of thanks goes out to our choir and our choir director, Annie Johnson, for leading us in worshipful music while playing piano. Victor Wilson also sang a beautiful rendition of How Great Thou Art at the Offertory!
Another special part of this past Sunday was our first livestream attempt. We were not sure what would happen, but the new equipment worked fine. Thanks to Eddie Stamper who was able to direct the three camera shots with an app on his phone. One person said they watched it live and it looked great!
We know we need to do a couple of things with the camera angles and the volume at certain points in the service. This Sunday we will livestream again and experiment with camera angles. For instance, sometimes I preach from the floor, so we are going to check out that possibility this Sunday. Once we find where they need to be placed, we will mount them so that they are above people’s heads and out of the way.
We welcome your feedback and questions. If you want to stay home and watch the livestream whilst inhabiting your jammies with a cup of coffee in your hand, you can. It helps to have a Book of Common Prayer. BYOBCP? You can also watch the recorded/archived service later in the day or during the following week if you are not able to be with us Sunday at 10a.m.
If you need a BCP at home, please ask us to deliver one if you cannot pick one up next time at church. Also – if you know of someone who needs help finding the service online, please let us know.
Before I even got home after the service and coffee hour, I was receiving texts from people saying they had already watched the recorded service on Facebook. Soon we will post the service on our YouTube channel. Please tag us on your social media and let people know that Calvary at 10 a.m. is
LIVE!
Blessings, Fr. Jon
