This year’s Hunger Knows No Holiday will look a little different for us. The Salvation Army will provide turkey, and we are asked to prepare three side dishes for a hot meal on our day, Friday, Nov. 24 (the day after Thanksgiving). Here’s what we need to feed those who need a good meal on a day when the Community Kitchen is closed:
- 14, 9″ X 13″ pans of stuffing (made outside a turkey), delivered to Calvary Friday morning or on Wednesday (find recipe here.)
- people to help prepare mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans at the church at 8 A.M. on Friday morning
- people to help serve the dinner at the Salvation Army at 11 A.M.
- people to help transport food to the Salvation Army a little before 11
Sean Farrington is coordinating this year’s event. Please contact him at 606-939-5352 or seanmdusty@hotmail.com to offer stuffing or to volunteer your time. A signup sheet will also be available on the white board in the parish hall on Sunday.
As all make preparations for meals and visits with family and friends, it’s important to remember those who enjoy no such blessings in their lives. Please consider offering a little of your time and labor. This is a great way to give thanks to God!
Wishing you every blessing,
Mtr. TJ
