I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)
Dear Friends,
Many of us have a picture of fitness classes that includes young hardbodies in spandex, a wilderness of machines, and daunting exercises. It can be tough for those of us beyond the spandex years (myself certainly included!), to find a class that fits our needs and is easily accessible.
We have a wonderful opportunity to host such a class at Calvary! Jordan Runnels, Community Health Facilitator for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, has offered to conduct a class at Calvary, beginning in June, that will focus on stretching, strengthening, and balance. Open to men and women, members and non-members, the class would begin with a blood pressure check-in and continue with about 45 minutes of exercise. Jordan would offer information, as we move, about health topics of interest.
The class is tentatively scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays, 6 to 7 P.M., in St. Mary’s Hall. Come in comfortable clothing, and bring a bottle of water and an exercise mat if you have one. (Jordan will bring a few. They are available inexpensively from WalMart and other retailers.) You are welcome to attend one or both weekly classes.
Before we can nail down this offering officially, I need to get a sense of how many of us are interested. I don’t need a commitment, but rather a feel for how many might wish to attend, including friends and neighbors. Please email me at tj.azar@hotmail.com or let me know in some other way if think you’d like to attend. We will not offer the class without sufficient interest.
Wishing you every blessing,
Mtr TJ
