Dear Friends,
I am glad to be back with you after two weeks away at school! My study included Anglican theology and the Passion story in Mark’s gospel. As a lifelong egghead, I’m always happy in a classroom, and it’s a great blessing to be taught by gifted professors who deepen my understanding in the faith. I am eager to share with you, in teaching and preaching, what I learned.
I was able to stop in Columbus, Ohio, on my trip home to meet my new grandson, Isaac Azar Luce, born June 13 to my son Jess and his wife Gina. “Isaac,” a Hebrew name, means “he will laugh; he will rejoice.” Even so, Jess reported that Isaac arrived shaking his little fists and with a scowl on his face. Here’s hoping he will grow into his name and be a blessing in the world!
To round out the blessings of this time, June 19 was the seventh anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood. I am grateful every day for this vocation, and also for all of you, among whom I continue to learn and grow as a priest. Teaching and learning travel in both directions!
With thanks, and wishing you every blessing,
Mtr. TJ (AKA “Granny”)
