Dear Friends,
Vacation Bible School is in full swing! Nearly 70 students are registered, and many volunteers from Calvary are working alongside folks from First Christian in teaching, shepherding, and guiding them in learning, play, and crafts. Sudie Davis and company prepared
and served kid-friendly dinners on Monday and Tuesday (along with some more adult oriented fare); First Christian assumes kitchen leadership today and tomorrow. It’s wonderful to see some new Calvary faces among the volunteers this year!
Providing this experience for our local children – many of whom have little or no relationship with a church – is a joyous exercise in ecumenical ministry. First Christian has been our close partner in worship and service for many years, our work together surviving several changes in leadership.
Please plan to attend our joint worship service this coming Sunday at First Christian as we celebrate our relationship with these good friends and our work together for our youngest neighbors. Worship begins at 10:45. The Rev. Robbie Phillips will preach, and I will preside at the Holy Eucharist. Dcn. Tina will assist. There will be no service at Calvary that day.
Wishing you every blessing,
Mother TJ
