I was so blessed to be part of graduation exercises at Trinity School for Ministry last Saturday, one of two students to receive the Doctor of Ministry degree. The Baccalaureate service and graduation were held at the beautiful St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Sewickley, PA.
Some reminders for you:
Our diocese will seat Bishop Mark as the Eighth Bishop of Lexington on June 5 (the Day of Pentecost – wear red!) at 4 PM at Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington. Our two new Canons, The Rev. Cn. Amy Chambers Cortright (Canon to the Ordinary) and The Rev. Cn. George Iype Kovoor (Canon Missioner), will be collated at this service as well. All are welcome! See Sunday’s bulletin for registration and other information.
Bishop Mark will preside and preach at “A Service for the Ending of a Pastoral Relationship and Leave-Taking from the Faith Community” this coming Sunday (May 22) at 3:00 PM. We will still have our customary 10 AM service as well. I encourage you to attend both. Our normal coffee hour will follow the first service, and a reception will follow the second.
Canon Amy Cortright will preach and preside at the Holy Eucharist at Calvary on May 29, after which she will meet with the vestry to discuss steps forward in Calvary’s life.
I would so appreciate it if you would bring to the church any clean boxes you have sitting around your house, especially smaller ones suitable for books. I am running short for packing!
There never seems to be enough time to say all we want to say to one another when a relationship is about to change. I have appreciated deeply the opportunity in these last weeks to hear and to say important things I might otherwise not have heard or said. Perhaps the only words that remain for me to say are, “Thank you” and, “I love you.”
Alleluia! Christ is risen!
