Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; let the whole earth stand in awe of him.
Psalm 96:9
Today I write to you in great thanksgiving for the wonderful Celebration of our Children Worship Service and Feast Day Picnic in the Park, that we had this past Sunday. As we prepared to worship, and I looked out and gazed upon all the beautiful children, families, people, and friends of Calvary, I felt the Lord’s presence among us and truly was in awe of him and you faithful people of the church!
I want to thank all who attended, all the children who were there and participated, all the parents and leadership that encouraged them, all who cooked, all who carried in and out food, drinks, and supplies, and most importantly our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for whom all was done in the honor, glory, and worship of. You all were amazing and it was an amazing day of celebration! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
As we bask in the glory of that wonderful day, let us look forward to this Sunday, September 25th, in which we will gather together again to celebrate Rally Sunday, the kick-off of Fall, school, and ministries within our church. Father Bryant will bless the Bags of Love Ministry, our program of weekend food for the children of Crabbe Elementary, and the Headstart Program. He will also bless the backpacks of our Calvary kids and educators as well as recognize ministries at our church that we participate in.
If you are new to Calvary or perhaps have forgotten these ministries due to the havoc Covid created for all of us, let me remind you of some opportunities for involvement, service, and fellowship that might be calling your name. Altar Guild, Bags of Love, Building and Grounds, Christian Formation, Choir, Children’s Education, Fellowship & Hospitality, Pastoral Care, Worship (acolytes, chalice bearers, lectors, and ushers) and Vestry Service are all wonderful ways to become involved in the church and more importantly give thanks to the Lord! Want to learn more? Come worship with us on Sunday, ask one of the clergy, vestry members, or committee leaders about an area of interest, or pick up our Annual Report where each ministry is explained. See you Sunday!
Faithfully,
Deacon Tina
