A Message From Father Jon

Dear Calvary members & friends,

I want to introduce you to The Right Rev. Sean Rowe, the next Presiding Bishop (BP) of The Episcopal Church, who will be picking up where The Most Rev. Michael Curry is leaving off on November 1, 2024.

For our newcomers – the term Reverend (Rev.) is used for a Deacon or a Priest in The Episcopal Church. A diocesan bishop is referred to as The Right (Rt.) Rev. such as in our bishop who is formally referred to as The Rt. Rev. Mark Van Koovering. Diocesan bishops can serve until they retire at age 72. The PB’s term of service is 9 years which covers three triennial General Conventions. A PB is formally referred to as The Most Rev. I think the Episcopal News Service (ENS) has a good introductory article by David Paulsen on Bishop Sean Rowe. Check it out! Here is the link: Bishop

Blessings, Fr. Jon
