Dear Friends,
What a joyous celebration last Sunday! Quinn Martin and Natalie Napier were brought into the household of God in Holy Baptism (and Natalie confirmed as well), and Linda Campbell was welcomed into The Episcopal Church! Bishop Ken Price, retired from the Diocese of Southern Ohio, was here to preach and preside at the Holy Eucharist.
Our youngsters lit the way for the procession of three kings to the manger scene, and a sea of children were seated on the floor around the baptismal font. A lovely reception for Bishop Price and those baptized/confirmed/received followed lively worship.
The bishop later remarked to a friend in a Facebook message, “It was one of the most upbeat congregations I have visited. We had baptisms, confirmation and reception. Great choir and two good deacons. I came home energized.” And this from a bishop who has visited more than a few churches in his time!
The day was yet another affirmation of the new vitality within us as a congregation. Thanks be to God’s Holy Spirit, who calls us to worship, nourishes us in community, and sends us out to serve!
Wishing you every blessing,
Mtr. TJ
