Dear friends in Christ,
Thank you so much for the very warm welcome this past Sunday complete with great attendance and a scrumptious luncheon afterwards. I was impressed with the whole morning and will hopefully see everyone this Sunday as well. If you were not able to make it to church, then please try to be present this week and introduce yourself to me. I remember many of your names and faces from last Sunday and look forward to the day when I can name everyone in the room!
Did you know that we have two worship services each week at Calvary? Sunday and Wednesday! The Wednesday noon services, starting December 6, will be an abbreviated Eucharist at about 40 minutes in length. I would very much like to have Wednesday Eucharist, with healing prayers, as regularly as is possible. There will be a short homily offered each week as well. We will meet in the Chapel and services will start at 12:10 p.m.
I look forward to being with you in worship this Sunday for the second week of Advent. Here are this Sunday’s readings for your own use prior to Eucharist. (It is part of our Episcopal tradition to read, study, and meditate on them leading up to each Sunday Eucharist.)
Isaiah 40:1-11, Psalm 85:1-2, 8-13, 2 Peter 3:8-15a, Mark 1:1-8.
Blessings and See You Sunday,
Fr. Jon
