Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Pentecost Sunday was a blast with the renewed Calvary Choir, the beautiful red vestments, and balloons to symbolize the presence of the Holy Spirit! Then we shared a wonderful meal and birthday cake during the fellowship time after worship! A huge THANK YOU! to everyone who came and to everyone who helped make This Pentecost a special one at Calvary!
This Sunday has a few updates:
- The 8a.m. service folks miss the 10a.m. folks and vice versa, so moving forward we will all worship together at 10a.m. This way the 8a.m. worshipers can stay for fellowship times too. I appreciate all those who came to, and helped with, the first service through Lent and Eastertide. I know we are all looking forward to being together at 10a.m. again!
- Adult Formation will continue with Liz Alexander’s class meeting in the Heritage Room at 9a.m. They usually discuss the scriptures of the day.
- I will meet with anyone who wants to come to my Rector’s Forum, also starting at 9a.m., which meets in the Fellowship Hall. This Sunday we will discuss those unique “churchy” words that we use in worship. There is always an interesting history behind the terms we have in our Episcopal tradition. Come grab a cup of coffee and join us!
- During our fellowship time after the 10a.m. service we will have another meal together! Please plan to stay and remember that these are great Sundays to invite someone to Calvary. Last week we had several newcomers and I noticed them meeting and talking with many of you!
- There will be a Vacation Bible School table set up where parents/grandparents can ask Alyse questions and register your kids. The VBS dates are set for evenings on July 24-26 at First Christian Church. If you can volunteer to help in some way, please reach out to Alyse at: CalvaryYouthAshland@gmail.com or visit with her on Sunday.
- We have a new Kroger Community Rewards program that we recently initiated. Participating costs you nothing and Kroger sends a percentage of all sales back to Calvary ministries. You can go to the Kroger website and use Calvary’s code LY632, or you can get assistance signing up at our Kroger Rewards table in our Fellowship Hall on Sunday.
