Dear Calvary friends,
Perhaps you have noticed bulletin envelopes for donations toward ministries. This is an opportunity to give beyond one’s pledge to a different ministry designated for each Sunday. If you are new to Calvary here is the order for each week and where your special donations go.
- The first Sunday’s designated ministry is The RDF (Rector’s Discretionary Fund) typically to assist the homeless and requests for help with utility bills.
- The second Sunday is for Bags of Love which feeds over 150 school children each weekend during the school year. (This is the ministry that we are looking for some new leadership by the upcoming 2024-25 school year.)
- The third Sunday is for The Building Fund.
- The fourth Sunday is for Youth Ministry.
- The fifth Sunday is for _______?
This Sunday will have a 5th Sunday envelope for our upcoming Livestream Ministry. We will be able to broadcast our 10a.m. service and then archive it on our YouTube channel. This will be especially helpful in keeping our older homebound parishioners engaged if they are otherwise unable to attend, or those folks who are recovering from surgery, or our travelling parishioners, or for newcomers who are searching the web interested in finding a church home. Can you think of anyone who would benefit from online access to our services?
We have already received a $1,000 gift toward our goal of $1,500. Praise God! So, we have enough to buy the necessary cameras with that generous gift and are now looking to complete the package with tripods, cables, and a used last generation iPad.
Last week a couple of parishioners suggested having a one time “ask” to get this program going. Thus the 5th Sunday envelope in this week’s bulletin which the Vestry has designated for the Livestream Ministry.
Would you be interested in helping Calvary get online to connect our worship service with those who can’t physically be there every Sunday? If so, then look for the white envelope in this week’s bulletin or contact our office if you cannot be present this Sunday but wish to help. Thank you!
Blessings, Fr. Jon
