Dear Easter people of Calvary and beyond,
Alleluia!!! Easter at Calvary was magnificent! In fact, all of Holy Week went well as the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services each proved to be very powerful. Thanks to Dcn. Tina for preaching on Maundy Thursday and for being present throughout the week from our Wednesday 12:10p.m. Chapel service to easter Sunday morning.
Thanks to Rev. Larry Sivis and the generous choir members who rehearsed and shared their time and talent in praising God over several services.
Thanks to all of you who participated and to all our worship angels who made it all happen. I thank God every time I think of you! I am humbled, and at times overwhelmed, by everyone’s sense of presence in our congregation.
Sunday morning gave us springtime rains and yet our joy was not damped in the least. We baptized little Noah Michael Campbell, heard the trumpet’s clarion call in singing Jesus Christ is Risen Today, welcomed several newcomers, and I heard the Easter Egg Hunt was terrific! Thank you, Alyse, Debbie B., and our wonderful youth helpers. Thank you, parents, and grandparents, for bringing your kiddos! We gave out 31 Easter bags/baskets!
Altogether we were 110 people strong at Eucharist!
This Sunday we return to our 8a.m. Rite I and 10a.m. Rite II service schedule. We will also resume Liz Alexander’s class in the Heritage Room from 9-10a.m. My Inquirers/Confirmation class for adults meets in St. Mary’s Hall from 9:15-9:45a.m. We are currently looking at The Book of Common Prayer to better understand its history and usage. Everyone is welcome to check out either class.
*Please remember to bring some spare greeting cards with you as we are collecting all types for our card ministry. A card can make a huge difference!
Easter blessings,
Fr. Jon
